BELINDA’S BIOGRAPHY I began my interest in Feng Shui after a frustrated corporate career. I had been working very hard and long hours, meeting all my sales goals, and still little to no raises, promotions or recognition. In 1996 I heard about Feng Shui from a friend and was really intrigued because I also had an interest in Interior Design. I had been practicing Reiki (Japanese form of energy work that helps reduce stress), so the idea of improving the flow of energy in your office to enhance the flow of money was fascinating to me and I was willing to try anything to move my career forward financially. I found a consultant in New York who gave me some suggestions by phone. He asked for a sketched floor plan and pictures of my space. He suggested I repair my front door which represented my career and that I begin using it. He also suggested some other interesting things to do in my office that made it feel energizing and inspiring. Within a few days, I received a phone call about a job in my company that would mean more money. I took the job, which led to other roles, promotions and raises over a two-year period. I had more growth in pay in those two years than I had had in 10 yrs! Feng Shui catapulted my lagging career. I continued doing my work duties as I did before but with much more enthusiasm. I received accolades, recognition, and raises. I went from being a sales rep to the only female sales executive at the time in the company mentoring managers and sales reps. I tripled my salary after the feng shui consultation. Due to my outstanding results and renewed enthusiasm in my work, I wanted to learn more about Feng Shui. I began getting training and then went to China to get certified in the art. I resigned from my successful corporate career of 18 years to take a leap of faith and do what I felt was my calling. I remember my pivotal moment. I was at a sales meeting getting ready for a dinner meeting and I turned on the TV to my favorite show on that time slot, Oprah. The topic was "Go for the dream, not the money, the money will come if you do what you love". I love turning lagging businesses around and seeing them succeed. I love being a resource to people. Feng Shui inspired my creativity and gave me an added tool to help others with the success I had experienced. I was living in Memphis, Tn. at the time but wanted to be closer to family. I now live in Austin, TX., closer to family and practice feng shui full-time. I pray and meditate daily to stay grounded and connected to source. A chinese Master taught us that meditation is the best way to cultivate personal chi. I also adhere to the Zen buddhist philosophy of mindful living and being respectful of all living things. Seeing all things as sacred is essential to living a peaceful and harmonious life. I feel I was born a Taoist. I always felt a strong connection to source even though I wasn't sure what to call it as a child. I was then raised a Catholic. I now practice Jesus and Budda's teachings of loving kindness and compassion for all living things. My intention is to be of service in the world by "changing environments so that they transform people and businesses to the highest level they can be". My mission statement is ” To make a positive difference in the world, one space at a time". |
